APARTMENT THERAPY’S SMALL COOL 2010 CONTES

Tataaaa ... today's big news :

My entry has been selected for Apartment Therapy's Small Cool 2010 Contest

The photos of my home have been recently posted and readers will have 48 hours to give me a "Thumbs Up". The homes with the greatest amount of "Thumbs Up" in their size divisions will move on to the next round of elimination voting.

In case you like my appartment - which houses also studio BCOME - and think that it is worth to come into the next round I would be - as you can imagine - more than happy if you would give me a so called "Thumb Up".

Thanks a lot in advance!

A friend of mine is writing a Japanese blog with the title 'Eighthundredandeighttowns' ... and I did an architectural trip with her ... so if you are interested, check it out ... sorry, all is in Japanese.

COMPACT LIVING

Compared to Germany, in Japan space is precious and makes it necessary to live compact.

Form follows function as compact as possible has been and is the main rule for my flat.

With the small booklet I have made, I want to show solutions how to deal with small space based on low budget without loosing the fun to create your own home.
In case you are looking for someone to give you a hand - I am always more than happy to challenge myself in re-organizing, designing and creating a space!! Feel free to contact me! >> http://issuu.com/benigna/docs/hsh

archi Texture

... while searching the web and I found a page which is showing a project I was working on a couple of years ago. It was quite a lot of fun and I especially enjoyed it very much that we managed to bring the interesting carved material the entire way from Germany to Japan ... although it looked in the beginning as if the Japanese fire-code would not allow this. >> http://www.architecture-page.com/go/projects/calyon-japan

home sweet home

Just checked out some of the apartments I lived in over the last thirteen years. The range starts from present 62m2 compared to ...

... former 93m2 and ...

... 41m2 and ...

... 18m2 as the smallest unit ... well, would love to say that the number of sqm is rising, but it seems there is a stagnation over the past six years, hm ...
